Storm- and Wastewater Informatics “SWI” is a strategic Danish Research Project with an overall aim to close the knowledge gaps within prediction and control of current and future conditions in integrated urban wastewater systems.
Major outputs will be components of an intelligent real-time decision support system, following a drop of water from the cloud, throughout the sewer–wastewater treatment system and into the receiving waters.

The total budget of the project is 30 mio. DKK, where half is financed by the Danish Agency for Science Technology and Innovation under the Programme commision on sustainable energy and environment and the other half by the private companies, public utilities and universities engaged in the project. The project will be running for the period 2008-2012.
